FABRIC QUALITIES

Percale

Percale is a type of fabric distinguished for its fine look, the smoothness in its weave and its great durability over time. These characteristics result from the impeccable pennie threads which are required for its weaving, but also from the density of the weave which is more than 180 threads per square inch.

ΝΙΜΑ ensures percale products of impeccable quality since we use fabrics with a weave of 200 or 300 threads per square inch.

Organdie

100% silk, very thin, delicate and transparent fabric. At NIMA we use exclusively high quality organdie 100% natural silk, the shiny and bright touch of which makes it unique. It is the perfect canvas to bring out handmade creations.

Dupion

A fabric with very fine and dense weave made exclusively by natural silk resulting in an exceptional natural glow. Timelessly recognized quality, necessary for creations that pass from generation to generation.

Sateen

Sateen is a term that describes the way a fabric is woven. Pennie threads are always used. The sateen texture lends a smooth weave and glow to the fabric.

NIMA has chosen to use sateen weave on 100% cotton threads with a high density weave (200 and 300 threads) so that it can combine the positive characteristics of the cotton fibre and the perfect image resulting from sateen weaving.

100% Cotton

It is well known that cotton comes from a fibre that surrounds the seeds of the cotton plant. Therefore, it is a 100% natural product, having a lot of positive characteristics.

The fibre is particularly hard-wearing, absorbing and releasing moisture easily, allowing the fabric to respire. This ability guarantees that the fabric cannot be electrified.

It is worth to mention that it is ideal for those who suffer from allergies.

What is more, its resistance to detergents means that it has got good wear in frequent washing.

Summarizing, it becomes obvious why 100% cotton products are the most popular in the white linen market.

Egyptian cotton

The best kind of cotton is the Egyptian one which is cultivated in the valley of the river Nile. The fabrics that are produced by Egyptian cotton bear all the positive characteristics of cotton, with an additional quality, its particularly soft and luxurious texture.

Microfiber

Microfibers are very thin artificial fibres, created by a mixture of polyamide and polyester. They are twice as thin as the silk fibre and three times as thin as the cotton fibre. When high quality microfiber is combined with the appropriate weaving procedure, an exceptionally soft and light product is created.

What is the significance of that when it comes to a quilt? It is light as a feather, warm and soft so that it can embrace the body. It is easy to use because it can be washed in the washing machine and it is the ideal quilt for those who are allergic to feathers.

Reactive printing

The reactive printing is the guarantee for the stability and the brightness of the colours since colours that do not fade and do not form folds are used for the printing. This way, the colours of these products remain unfading in the passage of time.
